The Columbia Valley Rockies battled the Creston Valley Thunder Cats on Saturday, September 8 in what was for some players their last chance to impress the coaches and guarantee themselves a roster spot for the upcoming season.  The Rockies showed grit and determination en-route to a 6-3 victory after dropping consecutive pre-season games to the Fernie Ghostriders by scores of 4-1 and 6-0 respectively. The Rockies open their season in the first game of a home and home series against the Golden Rockets on Friday (September 14) in Golden.
