Water meter installations are underway in Windermere this week, as the Regional District of East Kootenay’s (RDEK) metering program begins.

Contractor Neptune Technology Group Ltd. is putting meters on all commercial and residential properties currently hooked up to the community’s water system. It’s asking residents to book installation appointments within the next two weeks by calling 1-800-667-4387 or visiting watermeterappt.com. RDEK has meters in several communities, including Edgewater, and says their installation should lead to increased water conservation.
