Road upgrades coming to Panorama Drive

District of Invermere council has amended its financial plan for the year to add more than $10,000 in road repairs for Parnorama Drive, and to survey properties in the area to determine the road's boundaries.

District of Invermere council has amended its financial plan for the year to add more than $10,000 in road repairs for Parnorama Drive, and to survey properties in the area to determine the road’s boundaries.

The survey is required before traffic calming improvements can be installed.

Councillor Ray Brydon also suggested another possible traffic calmer when the issue was raised at the district’s July 12 meeting: a greater RCMP presence and more frequent speed limit reminders.

“There’s some really fast speeds along that area even though it’s posted at 50 kilometres per hour,” he said.

“It’s like a drag strip sometimes.”
