As of Wednesday (May 9), content on the Invermere Valley Echo website will be moving to a paid subscription format.

Existing subscribers to the print edition of the Invermere Valley Echo will still be able to view all content at no extra cost by entering their subscription number, however for those who are not subscribed, content will be locked behind what is know as a “gate.” Breaking news will still be available for everyone free of charge.

To access content on the website, you may either purchase a print subscription, which will unlock content, or purchase an online-only subscription through the website. Subscribers to either service will also be able to access our new e-Edition, which is an exact replica of the printed newspaper.

In introducing the paid subscription model, we join a growing number of newspaper companies across the country that have taken this step. As with other papers that have begun charging for premium content online, we view this as an investment in the future so that we can continue our mandate to offer a credible source of news, information and opinion.

We value every one of our readers, and appreciate the trust you have placed in us. If you have any questions please look at our guide to Frequently Asked Questions, located on the website. If you have further questions, please contact our customer service staff by email at helpdesk@blackpress.ca or by calling 1-888-811-5627.
