Earl Everett Pederson

July 1, 1917 – September 17, 2010

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Everett Pederson on September 17, 2010 after a brief illness in the Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC. He is survived by his wife Betty, son Robert and wife Julia, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Earl was born on July 1, 1917 in Broderick, Sask. and educated in Outlook, Sask. In 1940 he joined the Canadian Airforce and was stationed in England, Wales and Scotland and returned to Canada in 1945. He was employed by Cominco Ltd. in Kimberley, B.C. for 19 years, transferred to Port McNeill and retired from Yellowknife, NWT in 1977. He and Betty enlarged their summer home in Columere Park on the north end of Columbia Lake and lived there for 33 years. Earl was a dedicated golfer, fisherman, and skier in his younger years. He loved to walk his daily 1 1/2 miles as well as the golf course, and loved talking to friends along the way. People everywhere were terribly important to him. His wonderful sense of humour endeared him to all who touched his life. He will be greatly missed. The Funeral Service will take place Saturday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. at Christ Church Trinity, Invermere, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, White Rock, B.C. would be greatly appreciated.
