Golf News: Mountainside Ladies and Windermere Ladies Golf Club

Golf News for the week of August 10.

MOUNTAINSIDE LADIES CLUB: On July 19 we had our monthly cup. It was won by Shirley Elder. The first flight winners were Elder, Michael Ann Boyer and Joan Selzler. The second flight was Marlene Wasylyk first, Pat Slack second, and Janet Thompson third.

Our Senior Low Net Tournament was held July 26 and 27. The overall senior championship was won by Lil MacPherson. Donna Zedic won the first flight with Fran Lapinskie second and Barb MacDonald third. The second flight was won by Pat Slack, second Joan Selzler and third Marlyn DesBrisay. Janet Thompson was the winner of the third flight with Mary Bussard second and Nancy Clarke third.

The only deuce in the two days was MacDonald’s. Elder and Zedic won the K.P.s. Congratulations to everyone.

WINDERMERE LADIES GOLF CLUB: It appears that summer has finally arrived! On August 3, 26 ladies played a Pin Round.

The first flight was won by Sandra Howard, the second flight found Diane Kochorek and Carole Stanford tied and the third flight was won by Helga Boker.

There were three deuces: Sandra Howard, Cathy Howard and Kochorek. The Putting Pot was won by Carole Stanford.

The big news was that Sandra Howard broke 80. Her score was 79 ­— fantastic, way to go.
