Members of Martin Morigeau Elementary School’s new wrestling team headed to Lady Grey Elementary in Golden in mid January for their first inter-school meet. The students, in Grades 6 and 7, have been training together since November.

“The boys were nervous to meet the other team, as this is a new club for them, but they rose to the occasion and seemed like ‘naturals’ in the gym,” reports school principal and head coach Gail Rines. “Their nervousness lifted quickly and immediately afterward they were enthusiastic about how much fun they had. The first question they asked after the meet was when we could do this again.”
