Bang Bang, You're Dead comes to DTSS

The David Thompson Secondary School drama club will be putting on a production of Bang Bang, You’re Dead at the DTSS theatre on January 29 and 30. The play will start at 7 p.m. on both nights.

This will be the first play by the club held at the theatre this year and the students have been working since September to put on the best show they can.

Lucas Putnam is a grade 12 student who has been in the club for three years. He was also the student who originally thought the play would be a great one to perform.

“It is an awesome one of a kind play that is informative and entertaining. It is a psychological and emotional journey,” Putnam said.

Putnam also said this could be an eye-opening experience for the people in the community who may not expect to see the story as it takes a look at high school in a way not experienced around here.

He also went on to talk about the great benefit the club has been for students over the years.

“Everyone who is in it wants to be here. They enjoy it and will work their hardest to produce a strong outcome.”

Lila Berryman is in her first year in the club and she has already benefited from becoming a member.

“I have always loved acting and used to be shy. Many people in drama may be different based on a love of acting and expressing themselves. This is a great chance for us to come together,” she said.

Selina Ewen is the group’s drama teacher who is very proud of the work and creativity they have shown.

In her opinion the play gives the students, “A chance to show what is important to them. The kids picked this play. It is their passion.”
