Two Canadian Tire executives – president Michael Medline and senior vice-president Duncan Fulton – completed the Ice Bucket Challenge on Monday, answering the challenge sent to them by Scotiabank.

But Medline and Fulton didn’t just do it in their backyard or in front of their company’s headquarters.

Instead, they flew from Toronto up to frigid Frobisher Bay in Nunavut, and took an icy plunge with the help of three Canadian Olympians – Hayley Wickenheiser, Kaillie Humphries, and Charles Hamelin.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio also travelled north for his Ice Bucket Challenge, holding it on the banks of Alberta’s Lake Athabasca with the Fort Chipewan First Nations, where he is doing research for an environmental documentary.

DiCaprio extended his challenge to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The PM’s office responded to the challenge on Twitter, but poured water on it (pun intended) and said Harper has already donated to the ALS Association.
