Boil water notice for Windermere

A boil water notice that was issued on Saturday (June 9) for the Windermere community is still in effect.

A boil water notice due to high turbidity levels in Lake Windermere that was issued on Saturday (June 9) for the Windermere community is still in effect.

The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) and Interior Health are recommending that all customers of the Windermere water system use boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice. Water intended for the following should be boiled for at least one minute: drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making juice and ice, and brushing teeth.
