Kinsmen Beach was packed with eager on-lookers on June 3 as the voyageurs taking part in the David Thompson Brigade arrived in Invermere.

Voyageurs raced in-costume to the shoreline after performing a traditional salute to the community from their canoes, then the landed voyageurs lead the crowd in a cheer.

Other activities were information booths, live acting and story-telling demonstrations, drumming and singing by the Akisqnuk, and a jig performance by the Metis.
