Macdonald adds to Jumbo call

Columbia River-Revelstoke NDP MLA Norm Macdonald is adding his voice to the latest call for movement on the Jumbo Glacier Resort.

Columbia River-Revelstoke NDP MLA Norm Macdonald is adding his voice to the latest call for movement on the Jumbo Glacier Resort. Macdonald, a vocal opponent of the much-delayed development, made his pitch during an October 20 question period at the legislature in Victoria.

“Local people have been clear that they do not support a resort in the Jumbo valley.  With such strong opposition to this development, it is the responsibility of government to stop the speculation and say no to a giveaway of these public lands,” Macdonald said.

Earlier this month BC Liberal MLA Bill Bennett and members of the Ktunaxa Nation both urged the provincial government to make a final call on Jumbo.
