New online registry lets renters screen landlords

Landlord BC believes the move will help both renters and landlords

New online registry lets renters screen landlords

Renters can now to distinguish better landlords from the crowd, according to Landlord BC.

The organization opened a registry to keep track of landlords who have taken a two-hour online course on the Residential Tenancy Act, including issues such as how much notice is required when entering a tenant’s unit and how to maintain a good relationship with a tenant.

Landlords who earn at least 80 per cent during the course will be given an ‘I Rent It Right” certificate and be added to a database that renters can search.
