Quiniscoe Homes and Rohit Communities brought home the gold to the Columbia Valley. At the recent Tommie Awards, held on the weekend of February 12, Quiniscoe won seven gold awards, and Rohit won three gold awards. The Tommie Awards, which were given out by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Okanagan Region (CHBA-CO), are often referred to as the “Oscars” or the “Grammys” of the building industry, as they represent the top performers within the region. Quiniscoe won seven awards out of the 12 categories they entered. Their first winning home, entitled “Stealth”, which is located near Panorama Mountain Village, won in the following categories: Best Kitchen Under $50,000, Best Master Suite,Best Home Between $1-3 million, and Best Innovative Detail. Their second winning home, entitled “Villa Grand Sasso”, also located at Panorama Mountain Village, won Best Home Over $3 million, and Home of the Year. Quiniscoe also won for Best Web Site. Rohit won three awards for their development Copper Point Resort, in the following categories: Excellence in Logo Design, Individual Advertisement and Advertising Campaign of the Year. “This is a remarkable way to begin the year for Copper Point Resort leading into opening the doors this spring,” said Rohit Gupta, CFO of Rohit Group of Companies. “To be recognized by our peers and CHBA organizations amongst the top leaders in the valley such as Quiniscoe homes, shows our teams’ perseverance and commitment to the development of the Copper Point Resort.” “We’re thrilled,” said Doris Penner, co-owner of Quiniscoe. “It’s very important to remember that we had a great product, clients, architect and team.” Doris and Dave Penner have lived and worked in the Columbia Valley since 1999. Their award-winning projects were the result of two and a half years of dedicated effort. Both buildings are built on unique inclines, with Villa Grand Sasso on a 47-foot elevation. “Site Lines Architecture Inc. really take the lot into consideration,” said Penner. “They built with it, rather than against it. You can really see that in our homes.” Rohit Communities has two developments in Kelowna, B.C. that have also received CHBA-CO prestigious awards. The resort looks forward to entering those many other building categories next year. Copper Point Resort is also recognized in three categories at the CHBA National SAM Awards taking place in Banff, Alberta on February 26, 2011 and in five categories at the CHBA-BC Georgie Awards on March 5, 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
