Radium hot pools close

The Radium Hot Springs mineral pools reopened on Monday (September 10) due to silt being visible in the pools.

The Radium Hot Springs mineral pools reopened on Monday (September 10) after closing Sunday (September 9) due to silt being visible in the pools. According to Tourism Radium, the silt was potentially the result of earthquake activity in Alaska, which shares fault lines with the valley. The silt had affected the clarity of the pool, prompting pool employees to drain the hot pools. Once they had determined that the incoming spring water was clear enough, they began refilling. All the pools are now clear and ready for use by the public.
