RDEK town hall meetings return for 2012

The first of the RDEK's annual town hall meetings return to Areas F and G next week, with another set of meetings scheduled for February.

COLUMBIA VALLEY — The first of the Regional District of East Kootenay‘s (RDEK) annual town hall meetings return to Areas F and G next week, with another set of meetings scheduled for February.

The first two town halls run January 16 in the Brisco Community Hall and January 17 at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. In February, they’ll take place at the Edgewater Community Hall February 16 and the Windermere Community Hall February 23.

All four meetings begin at 7 p.m.

“It’s an opportunity for us to get out and meet property owners and homeowners and residents in our rural districts,” says RDEK communications manager Loree Duczek. The meetings include presentations from staff, Area directors and other special guests, question and answer sessions, and an overview of the district’s five-year financial plan. In Fairmont, Edgewater and Windermere, each fire service will give a presentation. The Windermere meeting will have information about the district’s lake zoning plans, and all four will include a discussion of the new agricultural plan.
