We are sad to announce the passing of Lula “Lou” Marr on April 21, 2008 in Invermere, British Columbia. Lou was born April 14, 1923 in Daysland, Alberta. In July of 1942 she was married to Thomas Marr. Lou served 2 years in the Air Force. Thomas and Lou had 4 children: Andy, Pat, Doug and Kerry; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Lou was a practical nurse at the St. Eugene and Invermere hospitals. She was also an avid photographer. She was honest, reliable and “a little bit crazy.” She said it was “the only way to fly.” Lou loved her fellow man, her deer and her neighbours. Take “Time for lunch – go home be glad, and thank the Good Lord for yet another day.”
A service for Lou was held on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Invermere Legion Hall. In memory of Lou, donations can be made to: Verge For Youth c/o Box 178 Radium Hot Springs V0A 1M0.
