Letters: Harper the Miser harms Canada’s reputation worldwide

funding for the permanent elimination of extreme poverty rose 6.1% worldwide, Canada’s contribution dropped a humiliating 11.4%

Dear Editor:

I was shocked to find out that in 2013, funding for the permanent elimination of extreme poverty rose 6.1 per cent worldwide while Canada’s contribution dropped a humiliating 11.4 per cent.

This year, the world will complete a global agreement called the SDGs — the Sustainable Development Goals. This is an election year. Please tell your MP and then your candidates that this miserly, penny-pinching is not only disgusting and morally offensive, it is harming our international reputation with all of the repercussions that will arise.
