The Columbia Basin Trust (CBT) recognizes that all great ideas need money. To help people in this endeavour, CBT is offering workshops in eight locations this winter that are designed to take the intimidation out of grant writing applications.
“These workshops are ideal for people who would like to learn more about developing a project idea into a funding proposal,” CBT Director of Community Initiatives Gary Ockenden said in a release. “Not only will you come to understand the elements of developing your idea, and tips and tools for preparing an application, but you’ll also learn about building relationships and securing partnerships in order to increase your chances of success.”
The workshops, appropriately titled ‘Developing and Funding Your Community Project,’ will cover topics such as how to focus your project idea, develop a budget, write clearly and identify appropriate funders. Participants will also receive an overview of CBT’s own granting program. In Invermere, the workshop will take place on Wednesday, January 30 at the Columbia Valley Chamber’s Lions’ Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will include a light lunch. Anyone interested is asked to RSVP to 250-344-2914 or email@example.com. Other nearby locations include Golden on Thursday, January 24 and Kimberley on Thursday, January 31.
