Suspects arrested in relation to Fairmont condo fire

A 20-year-old female from Fairmont Hot Springs and a 25-year-old male from Invermere have been arrested and charged.

Arson charges have been laid in relation the suspicious fire that destroyed three partially built condominium buildings at Columbia Eagle Resort in Fairmont Hot Springs on December 22, 2012.

As of January 17, a 20-year-old female from Fairmont Hot Springs and a 25-year-old male from Invermere have been arrested and charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

The fire, which lasted three hours, caused damages estimated to be between $1.5 million and $2 million.

The two suspects were identified as the result of an ongoing arson investigation, which also determined that the owners had no insurance and that the buildings had no electrical or water services.
